Abstract
The effect of excessive mesons on the meson-nucleon interaction in nuc lei is studied. It is shown that even if nonlinear meson interactions are considered, excessive mesons exist in the nuclear ground state (GS ) and the GS expectation value of the meson-nucleon interaction Hamilt onian is exactly equal to zero if there are no excessive mesons.
