S. Ung et Mf. Doherty, NECESSARY AND SUFFICIENT CONDITIONS FOR REACTIVE AZEOTROPES IN MULTIREACTION MIXTURES, AIChE journal, 41(11), 1995, pp. 2383-2392
Necessary and sufficient conditions for azeotropy in reactive mixtures
derived show that in the space of transformed compositions, they take
the same functional form as the conditions for azeotropy in nonreacti
ve mixtures. In general, reactive azeotropes do nor correspond to poin
ts of equal mole fraction (or mass fraction) across the coexisting equ
ilibrium phases. The relationship between stationary points in the equ
ilibrium temperature or pressure surface and reactive azeotropes is al
so considered, as well as their relevance to the Gibbs-Konovalov theor
ems.
