The liquid phase oxidation, with molecular oxygen fell of phenylcycloh
exane to cyclohexylbenzene hydroperoxide was studied. The cobalt acety
lacetonate (Co(acac)(2)) catalytic role, as well as the catalyst activ
ation by the solvent used i.e. N-methyl 2-pirrolidone (NMP) were rende
red evident. The hydroperoxide selectivity dependence function of conc
entration, both to non-catalytic oxidation, in the presence of AIBN in
itiator and to the oxidation catalized by Co(acac)(2), in NMP solvent,
was determined. The selectivity decrease with the conversion, reactio
n temperature, catalyst concentration and hydrocarbon concentration gr
owth.
