Phosphorescence of low density polyethylene induced by pulses of 6MeV
electrons was observed in the temperature range 20-200 K. Samples of P
E unirradiated and preirradiated at room temperature to the dose of 1
MGy in vacuum and oxygen atmosphere were studied. Kinetics of the phos
phorescence decay and the time resolved emission spectra are presented
for each type of PE. Phosphorescence life time consecutively decrease
d in the order: unirradiated, preirradiated to 1 MGy in vacuum, preirr
adiated to 1 MGy in oxygen atmosphere.
