A. Kussak et al., DETERMINATION OF AFLATOXINS IN DUST AND URINE BY LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY ELECTROSPRAY-IONIZATION TANDEM MASS-SPECTROMETRY, Rapid communications in mass spectrometry, 9(13), 1995, pp. 1234-1237
A liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization tandem mass spectromet
ry method is described for the determination of aflatoxins B-1, B-2, G
(1) and G(2). Samples of naturally contaminated airborne dust and spik
ed urine were cleaned up on immunoaffinity columns and analysed by liq
uid chromatography using either mass spectrometry detection or post-co
lumn derivatization with bromine and fluorescence detection. With tand
em mass spectrometry, detection limits (S/N = 3) calculated as amount
ejected on column were: aflatoxin B-1 4 pg, B-2 4 pg, G(1) 5 pg, and G
(2) 10 pg.
