R. Zamora et al., TRANSCATHETER CLOSURE OF RESIDUAL ATRIAL SEPTAL-DEFECT FOLLOWING IMPLANTATION OF BUTTONED DEVICE, Catheterization and cardiovascular diagnosis, 36(3), 1995, pp. 242-246
We report a case in which residual shunting after a buttoned device oc
clusion of atrial septal defect (ASD) was eliminated by transcatheter
retrieval of a portion of the device, followed by implantation of a se
cond device, This method may be helpful for those patients with residu
al ASDs who decline surgical device retrieval and defect closure. (C)
