A theoretical analysis of the interaction in long sequences of slightl
y different optical solitons is proposed. We compare prediction of the
recently proposed model for description of the N-soliton interaction
with numerical solution of the non-linear Schrodinger equation. The go
od agreement obtained shows that the model discussed can be efficientl
y used in analysing the interaction in sequences with slightly differe
nt amplitudes.
