Ad. Burrows et al., MULTIDIMENSIONAL CRYSTAL ENGINEERING OF BIFUNCTIONAL METAL-COMPLEXES CONTAINING COMPLEMENTARY TRIPLE HYDROGEN-BONDS, Chemical Society reviews, 24(5), 1995, pp. 329
The control of molecular assembly using supramolecular interactions re
presents a rapidly expanding area of chemistry. Hydrogen bonding inter
actions between molecules represent a particularly interesting and eff
ective way of getting specific supramolecular effects. In this review
some bifunctional transition metal complexes are described which have
on their surface complementary triple hydrogen bonding groups which ar
e used for the crystal engineering of solid state materials.
