Abstract
Visual census biomass estimates are compared with yields of three empe ror (Lethrinidae) genera from shallow water fished reef habitats and w e demonstrate that visual census can consistently underestimate the ex ploitable biomass of Lethrinus spp. (C) 1995 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
