Abstract
Fundulus heteroclitus in the estuary of the Guadalquivir River in sout hern Spain competes with a native killifish, Aphanius iberus. Cytochro me b sequence analysis shows that the Spanish individuals are derived from the northern of two possible American populations of F. heterocli tus.
