Abstract
Acceptable limits of the gamma of TV pictures on the thin film transis tor type of liquid crystal displays (TFT-LCDs) were found to be 0.9 an d 1.4 by the subjective evaluation using five ITEJ (the Institute of T elevision Engineers of Japan) standard test charts. A gamma of 1.13 ga ve the highest evaluation. The range and optimum value of the gamma ar e similar to those obtained on the previous study using a CRT monitor display.
