Reactions of the chloro-bridged bis(allyl) complex [(eta(3):eta(3)-C10
H16)Ru(Cl)](2) with alpha-amino carboxylates and alpha-amino acid este
rs afford the complexes (eta(3):eta(3)-C10H16)(Cl)RuNH(2)CHRCO(2) (2)
and (eta(3):eta(3)-C10H16)(Cl)(2)RuNH(2)CHRCO(2)R' (3). Abstraction of
chloride from 3 by Ag+ gives the N,O-chelates (eta(3):eta(3)-C10H16)(
Cl)RuNH(2)CHRCO(2)-R']+BF4- (4). Cysteine methyl eater forms the N,S-c
helate complex (eta(3):eta(3)-C10H16)(Cl)RuNH2CH(CO2CH3)CH2S (5), and
with histidine methyl ester a dinuclear complex 6 with N,N-histidine b
ridge is obtained. Compound 3d with L-Phe-OEt as ligand was characteri
zed by X-ray diffraction.
