Abstract
Reaction of iron(II) chloride with one equivalent of [MeO-(CH2CH2O)(3) (CH2)(3)C(5)Me]Li in THF yields the title halfsandwich complex 1, whic h is stable in solution up to room temperature. Compound 1 reacts with C5H5Li and CO to give [MeO(CH2CH2O)(3)(CH2)(3)C(5)Me(4)]Fe(C5H5) (2) and [MeO-(CH2CH2O)(3)(CH2)(3)C(5)Me(4)]Fe(CO)(2)Cl (3), respectively i n high yields.
