Abstract
An inevitable consequence of the effort to maintain the Nobels as the premier prizes in science is that selection committees have been force d to deviate somewhat from Alfred Nobel's wishes-that achievements be recent and be performed by an individual, younger scientist, states B. I.B. Lindahl, an associate professor of theory of medical science at S tockholm's Karolinska Institute.
