Abstract
Treatment of the eta(2)(3e)-vinyl complex [Re{=C(Ph)CH(Ph)}Br(PPh(3))( eta-C5H5)] with HBF4 . Et(2)O and the phosphaalkyne Bu(t)C=P affords t he crystallographically characterised complex [Re{=C(Bu(t))P(H)OBF3}Br (PPH3)(eta-C5H5)] 1 formed via a novel reaction involving transfer of oxygen from a metal centre to a coordinated phosphaalkyne.
