Abstract
Thioisomunchnones undergo 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with chiral nitroa lkenes to afford stereoselectively 4,5-dihydrothiophenes by means of a n unprecedented fragmentation of cycloadducts; the structures of these products have been established by single crystal X-ray structure anal yses.
