Abstract
Single (multi) shell nanotubes have been modelled with a cylindrical s ymmetry wall for the pi electrons. This procedure leads to an easy der ivation of the shell interaction effect on the pi electron wavefunctio n in the multi shell nanotube case. The effect on the pi plasmon frequ ency calculated in the random phase approximation due to the wavefunct ion modification has been investigated.
