Wj. Doherty, BOUNDARIES BETWEEN PARENT AND FAMILY EDUCATION AND FAMILY-THERAPY - THE LEVELS OF FAMILY INVOLVEMENT MODEL, Family relations, 44(4), 1995, pp. 353-358
The model presented here addresses the crucial issues of where to plac
e parent and family education in the spectrum of professional services
to families, and how to distinguish between education and therapy in
work with families. A 5-level model of involvement with families is of
fered as an alternative to the dichotomous distinction between educati
on and therapy. Implications are offered for professional training, st
aff development, and research and evaluation in parent and family educ
ation.
