Abstract
The analysis of lasers with several sections is more complicated than the analysis of a simple Fabry-Perot laser, one convenient method is t he ''transfer matrix'' analysis which is described in this paper. The matrix applies to the amplitude of the electrical field and permits to calculate the resonance gain, the frequency and the linewidth of the laser. We applied this analysis to a laser diode coupled with an exter nal Fabry-Perot.
