Abstract
Heterodyne detection allows us to measure the extinction coefficient t hrough various mammalian tissues such as muscle, liver and skin. Measu rements were achieved on tissue thicknesses from 2 to 5 mm, correspond ing to maximal attenuations of 9 OD.
