Abstract
Reported is on the direct excitation, by femtosecond pulses, of low fr equency symmetric phonon polariton in LiNbO3. A comparison between dif fraction efficiencies as a function of polarization allows to estimate the relative contributions from the EO effect and the overall four-wa ve mixing process.
