Abstract
A thermally sprayed titanium-based anode has been developed for cathod ic protection of reinforced concrete structures. A thin, tightly adher ent coating of titanium may be applied to concrete by plasma, flame, o r arc spray techniques. Deposit efficiency and bond strength are high. A process also has been developed for catalyzing the titanium coating , which results in long-term operation at low anodic potentials. This anode is expected to be useful especially where concrete overlays are undesirable and where long life and durability are important.
