S. Radulovic et al., IN-VITRO AND IN-VIVO ANTIBIOTIC SUSCEPTIBILITIES OF ELB RICKETTSIAE, Antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy, 39(11), 1995, pp. 2564-2566
The activities of doxycycline, rifampin, chloramphenicol, and erythrom
ycin against ELB rickettsiae (Rickettsia azadi) were determined by dye
uptake and plaque assays. Plaque formation in Vero cells was inhibite
d by 0.12 mu g of doxycycline per ml. The data presented demonstrate t
he susceptibility of ELB rickettsiae to commonly used antibiotics for
the treatment of rickettsial diseases.
