Abstract
This article summarizes an overview of percutaneous cholecystostomy. I ndications, including acute cholecystitis, gallbladder access for ston e removal, drainage of common duct obstruction, and diagnostic cholang iography, are outlined. The anatomy of the gallbladder and liver attac hments and their importance and implications for cholecystostomy are o utlined. The specific techniques for cholecystostomy, including imagin g guidance, access techniques, catheter systems, complications, and te chnical problems, are included in this article.
