Cx. Wu et al., ANALYSIS OF THERMALLY DIELECTRIC-RELAXATION PHENOMENA IN ORGANIC MONOLAYER FILMS BY DEBYE BROWNIAN-MOTION EQUATION, JPN J A P 1, 36(1A), 1997, pp. 222-225
The thermally dielectric relaxation phenomena in organic monolayer fil
ms on a material surface have been analyzed on the basis of the rotati
onal Debye Brownian motion equation. The orientational disordering of
monolayers polarized with biasing is discussed with respect to two pha
ses, i.e., the liquid phase and the liquid-crystalline phase, with con
sideration of the dielectric relaxation time tau and the friction cons
tant xi of monolayers. The interface effect and the intermolecular int
eraction are taken into consideration in the analysis.
