A self-regulating electrical heater whose resistivity is characterized
by a positive temperature coefficient, consists essentially of electr
cally conductive thermoplastic compositions achieved by the addition o
f conductive carbon black to a polymeric base. The sample series are Z
D-25 type and ZD-50 type. Thir thermal outputs reach to 25 W/M and 50
W/M respectively, when surroumding temperature is 10 degrees C. The re
sistivity variance of the electrical heater with remperature has been
investigated. The relation between the thermal outputs of the electric
al heater and surrounding temperature has also been investigated.
