STATISTICS OF ROUGH SURFACES VIA REMOTE-SENSING - AN EXPERIMENT

The process for fabricating a random rough surface with given statisti cs is described. The technique consists of producing a random rough su rface on plates covered with photoresist by exposing the plates to spe ckle patterns. The theory presented by Alvarez-Borrego is compared wit h experimental results obtained from the fabricated surface using a me chanical profilometer. The aim is to compare the statistical propertie s obtained with the Alvarez-Borrego with the results obtained using ot her methods. The results obtained with the mechanical profilometer agr ee reasonably well with those obtained from the model.
