Dorylaimus parasiticus sp. nov. (Nematoda: Dorylaimidae) is described
from the digestive tract and general body cavity of Salamandra salaman
dra, Rana perezi, and Bufo bufo, amphibians of the Iberian Peninsula (
Spain). This is the first record of a member of the Order Dorylaimida
Pearse, 1942 being a parasite of a vertebrate. The new species is char
acterized by a large body size, a thick transversely striated body cut
icle with 20 to 26 longitudinal ridges.
