Abstract
Atomistic computer simulation in combination with a simple statistical mechanics treatment is used to investigate the importance of Xe conce ntration for the behaviour of single atoms of Xe in UO2 at low Xe dose s. The calculated results are compared to existing experimental data i n an attempt to provide an atomistic picture of some of the important factors underlying the diffusion of single atoms of Xe.
