Abstract
Molecular studies have been brought to bear on the debate over the nat ure of the evolutionary links between primates nod bats. The present i nvestigation supports the view that base composition is important in u nderstanding phylogenetic relationships. Our discovery that some bats have extreme base compositional biases in their DNA compared to others may help in understanding the origin of these biases.
