Abstract
An all-solid-state tunable diode-pumped Cr3+:LiSrAlF6 (Cr:LiSAF) regen erative amplifier, seeded by a tunable diode-pumped Cr:LiSAF femtoseco nd oscillator, has been demonstrated for the first time to our knowled ge. The oscillator was tunable over 75 nm and generated pulses as shor t as 24 fs. As much as 70 mW average output power was obtained with pu lses of 40-fs duration. The amplifier produced recompressed pulses of less than 200-fs duration with energies exceeding 1 mu J at a repetiti on rate as high as 25 kHz. (C) 1995 Optical Society of America
