Abstract
Expressions are obtained for the sensitivity coefficients partial deri vative n(i)/partial derivative Y of the equilibrium state of a homogen eous multicomponent system in which chemical reactions occur, and in w hich ideal behavior of the components is not assumed; n(i) is the equi librium amount of the ith chemical species, and Y is a parameter influ encing the equilibrium. These thermodynamic identities represent gener alizations of the results of the same kind, recently reported for syst ems with ideal behavior [I. Gutman, I. Fishtik and I. Nagypal, J. Math . Chem. 16 (1994) 229]. Also in the most general case, partial derivat ive n(i)/partial derivative Y is found to be equal to the sum of contr ibutions originating from certain special equilibria, previously named as Hessian response reactions.
