Abstract
A new type of MIG/TFC(Thin Film Coil) hybrid magnetic recording head w as developed which eliminates the wire winding process of conventional MIG head. The coil of the head was fabricated by conventional thin fi lm processes and technologies. The hybrid head obtained has a low indu ctance value and little wiggle and popcorn noises compared to conventi onal MIG and thin film heads.
