Abstract
A method of optimizing the bias current of a shielded soft-adjacent-la yer magnetoresistive recording head is presented using a spinstand tra ck profile model. Values of write width, read width, track asymmetry, and track position error signal at the optimized bias current are dete rmined. Expressions of the position error signal gain of a track profi le are discussed.
