Abstract
A three-dimensional simulation program for analysis on high areal dens ity magnetic recording is developed, in which magneto-static interacti on between a head and a medium is taken into account with a reasonable medium modeling. Recording phenomena in submicron-width recording in perpendicular magnetic recording are investigated with this simulator. Simulated results indicate head field disturbance to neighboring trac k is small even in submicron trackwidth because of Its small side frin ging of 0.05 mu m. It is also confirmed that such writing situation br ings well-defined off-track overwrite pattern. Thus, our simulation pr edicts the feasibility of multi-track perpendicular magnetic recording in 0.3 mu m trackpitch.
