Jn. Nderu et al., EFFECTS OF TENSILE-STRESS ON THE MAGNETIZATION PROPERTIES OF CO BASE AMORPHOUS WIRES, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(6), 1995, pp. 3140-3142
The effects of tensile stress on the magnetization properties of negat
ive magnetostriction constant amorphous wires have been investigated.
The magnetization change due to tensile stress is completely reversibl
e and shows no hysteresis. Stress insensitive region appears at low ma
gnetic field for (Co0.94Fe0.06)(72.5)Si12.5B15 wire, but at high magne
tic field for Co72.5Si12.5B15 wire. These properties are explained wel
l from the calculation of the induced anisotropy energy due to tensile
stress.
