When a Vicalloy wire(10wt%Fe-50Co-10V) is twisted, the coercivity redu
ces due to large stress. The pulse-inducing characteristics and domain
wall propagation nas investigated utilizing this effect on such compo
und magnetic wire. We found that the generating point of inverse nucle
ation varied according to the strength of set field Hs and the demagne
tizing field near the end of the wire, when the entire compound magnet
ic mire is excited by asymmetrical field. Moreover, re found that the
velocity of domain wall propagation in the smaller coercivity! layer t
o be 400-500(m/s) at Hs=16-25 Oe.
