Y. Takemura et al., MULTIPLE SIGNAL TRANSMISSION IN WIDE-RANGE POSITION SENSOR USING MAGNETOELASTIC WAVE IN FESIB AMORPHOUS WIRE, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(6), 1995, pp. 3155-3157
A wide-range position sensor using magnetoelastic waves in FeSiB amorp
hous wire was fabricated. The output signal, whose period is proportio
nal to the sensing distance, is obtained for the range from 0 to 5.0 m
with a resolution of 1 mm. A multiple signal transmission In the wire
was also studied. As the propagation of the magnetoelastic wave is no
t interfered by DC or AC electric current (up to 1.6x10(7) A/m(2), 10
MHz), the signals of the electric current and the magnetoelastic wave
are transmitted simultaneously in the wire. This advantage is utilized
far several proposed applications, such as a multiple signal transmis
sion, the delay line and power supply Line in the position sensor.
