Abstract
Reactive arthritis is an acute form of arthritis apparently caused by a combination of bacterial infection and genetic influences. Recent ex periments using an animal model suggest that certain bacterial cell wa ll polymers originating from endogenous enteric bacteria may be respon sible for the condition.
