Abstract
Using the Finite Element Method, the propagation and phase shift chara cteristics of shielded microstrip and slotline on an axially-magnetize d ferrite substrate are derived and compared. Results show that when t he two structures have identical dimensions and ferrite parameters, th e microstrip provides approximately 2-3 times greater phase shift per unit wavelength (of the isotropic case) than the slotline.
