Mj. Sablik et al., BIAXIAL STRESS EFFECTS ON MAGNETIZATION PERPENDICULAR TO THE STRESS PLANE, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(6), 1995, pp. 3665-3667
Effects of biaxial stress in steel on magnetization in a direction nor
mal to the stress plane were investigated both theoretically and exper
imentally. The two results, which agreed qualitatively, showed that th
e magnetization in the normal direction generally decreased with the a
bsolute value of the sum of the two principal stresses. The implicatio
n to nondestructive measurements of biaxial stress is discussed.
