Sn. Hogsdon et al., STUDY OF NANOCRYSTALLINE FE73.5CU1NB3SI16.5B6 RIBBONS BY HIGH-RESOLUTION DELTA-E MEASUREMENTS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(6), 1995, pp. 3895-3897
Measurements of the field dependence of Young's modulus (Delta E effec
t) are reported for amorphous ribbons of Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si16.5B6 annealed
for 1 hour at temperatures of 450 degrees C, 520 degrees C, 540 degre
es C and 620 degrees C. The magnitude of the effect varies from 36% to
less than 10(-5) as the magnetostriction constant lambda(s) is reduce
d by nanocrystallization. The results are discussed in the light of ex
isting models, and suggest that the anisotropy is the result of compet
ition between stress, magnetocrystalline and shape contributions.
