This paper presents a new concept of self-experience, which was develo
ped for the use in behavior therapy training. It is theoretically assu
med that therapeutic situations are complex decision, situations and t
hat emotions are of special importance in information processing. The
main emphasis of this self-experience concept is put on the developmen
t of therapeutic competence, consisting of the aspects: methodological
, ressource, and interactive competence. Preliminary results of an eva
luation study are presented.
