Abstract
The fibrous adsorbents containing amidoxime groups were synthesized by radiation-induced graft polymerization of acrylonitrile onto polyprop ylene fibers, followed by functionalization of cyano groups to amidoxi me groups with hydroxylamine. The polypropylene-based fibrous adsorben ts exhibited a high grafting rate. The adsorption tests proved the per formance of these fibrous adsorbents as a promising material for urani um recovery from seawater.
