Abstract
A new class of alpha-heteroatomalkyl organocuprate/organocopper reagen ts has been prepared. These alpha-azoalkyl cuprate reagents were deriv ed from alpha-azoalkyl anions and were treated with enones and enoates affording gamma-azoalkyl carbonyl compounds in modest yields.
