Abstract
Episiotomy scar tumor implantation arising from a cervical carcinoma i s rare, This report details a patient who developed an episiotomy impl ant from a ''microinvasive'' adenocarcinoma of the cenix 5 months foll owing vaginal delivery, The implant behaved as a primary focus for met astases to the inguinal lymph nodes. Despite subsequent treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy the patient succumbed to the disease, T he case is the first reporting a poor outcome following an episiotomy scar inplant from a primary cervical adenocarcinoma. The poor outcome high-lights the controversy regarding the use of the term microinvasiv e With respect to glandular cervical lesions. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
