Abstract
With many entrepreneurs coming forward to invest in iron and steel ind ustry, this paper aims to provide a technological overview of blast fu rnace ironmaking in India. The various performance indices of blast fu rnace operation have been discussed and factors affecting these indice s are highlighted. Finally an exercise has attempted to show the poten tial bf Indian blast furnace practice.
