Ct. Liou et Th. Hsiue, LINEARIZATION AND CONTROL OF A NONLINEAR-SYSTEM VIA REACTION CURVE METHOD, Journal of the Chinese Institute of Chemical Engineers, 26(5), 1995, pp. 211-220
The exact linearization technique is applied to transform a nonlinear
system into a linear system, and two adjustable parameters, P-1 and P-
2, are introduced in the equivalent linear system to obtain an integra
l action in the controller. The controller in the equivalent linear sy
stem is tuned by using the Reaction Curve Method, which is widely used
in chemical reactor control systems. The effects of the system parame
ters are investigated by considering an example CSTR system, Simulatio
n results show that output performance is not sensitive to the paramet
er P-1, and a large value for the parameter P-2 is recommended for a b
etter output response. Numerical simulations show that the method deve
loped in this work yields control performance superior to that obtaine
d from previous methods.
