Abstract
A new method is suggested for producing spin-polarized Auger electrons by the ionization of laser excited polarized atoms. Particular analys is is made for fast electron impact ionization in the 2s subshell of l aser excited sodium atoms. Large values of the spin polarization are p redicted due to the polarization transfer from the laser excited targe t to the Auger electron.
