Abstract
Continuous casting technology has advanced significantly Over the last two decades. The present paper reviews recent work on duality aspects in continuous casting. Current technological trends in tile areas of easter design, soft reduction: electromagnetic stirring and atomised m ist cooling have been discussed. New technologies, which have enormous potential and will revolutionize the art of steel processing, namely, thin slab and thin strip casting have also been touched upon.
